Charles Taylor's lawyer: 'I refuse to accept any blame'
Charles Taylor's lawyer, Courtenay Griffiths, has told the BBC's Peter Biles that he will return to court and re-engage with the proceedings when and if the judges accept his final brief.
Mr Griffiths went on to say, "If the judges continue to refuse to allow Mr. Griffiths final brief, he and Charles Taylor will not appear in court on Friday."
Charles Taylor faces 11 charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity over his alleged role in the civil war in neighbouring Sierra Leone, where he is accused of backing rebels responsible for widespread atrocities.
