US agrees to send Patriot air defence missiles to Turkey


The US is to send Patriot air defence missiles and 400 troops to Turkey as part of a NATO force to protect Turkish territory from potential missile attacks from Syria.

A number of Syrian shells have already landed in Turkish territory since the conflict in the Arab state began in March last year.
