Hurricane Sandy hits Cuba
Hurricane Sandy has made landfall in Cuba bringing with it winds gusting at up to 175 kilometres per hour.
Earlier it had swept through Jamaica killing one person, but the full extent of the damage may not yet be known. Another person also died in Haiti.
It could then grow in strength as it tracks towards the Bahamas, and potentially Florida.
Mike Wooldridge reports.
