A suspicious object at the centre of a security alert in Dunloy, County Antrim, was a bomb, the police have said.

The device was found at a parochial hall close to St Joseph's Catholic church on Bridge Road at about teatime on Tuesday.

It has been taken away for further examination.

Bridge Road, which had been closed in both directions, has now re-opened.
