Spain wildfires: Weather conditions hamper firefighters
Firefighters are continuing to battle wildfires affecting the Canary Islands of La Gomera and La Palma, and mainland Spain.
Emergency services spokeswoman Carmina Lorenzo said on Monday that strong winds and high temperatures had pushed the fire on La Gomera to over 3,000 hectares (7,400 acres).
Another blaze on neighbouring La Palma island has burned at least 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres).
