Obama speech in full: End Afghan war 'responsibly'

Help

US President Obama has made a TV address to Americans, from Afghanistan.

He hailed the approaching end of the war, thanked US troops, and vowed that the US would "finish the job" in the country.

Mr Obama arrived in Afghanistan on a surprise visit to sign an agreement on future Afghan-US ties with President Hamid Karzai, ahead of a Nato summit.

The visit itself came one year after US forces killed Osama Bin Laden.
