Today in Liberia

Africa has the youngest population of any continent - a fact that is certainly borne out in Liberia on the west coast, where nearly half the population is aged under 15.

This statistic - coupled with an education system wrecked by years of civil war - has left Liberian children struggling to get the skills the country needs to move forward. For BBC Radio 4's Today programme , John Humphrys went to Bong County in rural Liberia - where he met one child determined do well.
