Vatican opens secret documents archive
One hundred unique documents selected from among millions in the Vatican's secret archive have gone on show to the public in Rome for the first time.
They include a papal document authorising the division of the new world between Spain and Portugal after Christopher Columbus returned from his voyage of discovery to the Americas.
