Police try to identify body in Swansea Valley canal

Police are appealing for information after a man's body was found in a disused Swansea Valley canal.

Officers were called to the scene near Herbert Street, Pontardawe at about 08:50 BST on Monday.

They say the man, who has not been identified, was white, between 45 and 60, of small build and he had facial hair.

Officers want any information which may help find out who he was or trace his next-of-kin.

The death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no suspicious circumstances.

The man was wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow, jeans and black shoes.

Anyone who may know anything about the individual should contact South Wales Police.
