Woman must pay £800 for dumping rubbish in Llanelli

A woman has been ordered to pay £860 for dumping a bag of rubbish at a recycling bank in Llanelli.

Enforcement officers spotted the woman, 31, leaving the black bag in front of a litter bin under a "no fly-tipping" sign at the Dafen Pond site.

She failed to pay a fixed penalty notice and was convicted in her absence at Carmarthen Magistrates' Court.

The woman was fined £600 and was ordered to pay £200 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Councillor Jim Jones, Carmarthenshire council's executive member for environmental and public protection, said dumped rubbish would not be tolerated.
