Up to 40 jobs could go at a south Wales bakery after it lost its contract with Hovis.

Swansea Bakeries Limited (SBL) said it was consulting with staff and unions after Hovis decided it would use its own factory in Avonmouth, Bristol.

The firm said it would do everything it could to mitigate the contact loss and was in talks with two distribution firms.

SBL said affected workers would be offered jobs at the Avonmouth site.
