Woman, 39, injured in armed robbery in Uplands, Swansea

A 39-year-old woman has been injured in a robbery in the Uplands area of Swansea, say South Wales Police.

A man armed with a knife approached the woman as she walked along Nyanza Terrace and demanded money and after a scuffle made off along Bryn y Mor Road.

Police said it was "very distressing" for the victim who needed hospital treatment for a cut to her hand.

Local patrols have been stepped up and there is an appeal for information.

The robbery happened at about 10:30 BST on Sunday.

Officers said the suspect was white, in his twenties, with short hair. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a light grey top with a blue pattern on the front with his hood raised.
