Richard Chandler Richard Chandler has been missing since Thursday

Householders in Llanelli are being asked to check gardens and outbuildings for a man who has been missing since Thursday.

Dyfed-Powys Police are becoming increasingly concerned about Richard Chandler, 25, and are conducting searches in the area.

Mr Chandler from Kettering, Northants, has been working as a roof contractor in the Trostre area for the last three weeks and staying locally.

But colleagues say he has disappeared.

Police said Mr Chandler has been staying in the Miramar hotel in Station Road on weekdays and travelling home on weekends.

He was last seen by his colleagues at approximately 23:00 BST on Thursday 3 July.

He was also seen walking along New Dock Road in the direction of Machynys at 23:54 BST but he has not been seen or heard from since which is said to be out of character.

A police spokesperson said: "We thank the community for their co-operation and assistance during the increased police presence and activity in the area whilst searches and enquiries continue to find Richard."

He is described as approximately 5ft 8in (1.72m) tall, of stocky build and with auburn/dark hair.

He was wearing a grey Adidas hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms with a red V on the back pockets and black and light blue trainers.

Anyone with information about Mr Chandler is asked to call Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.
