Woman injured jumping from burning house in Carmarthenshire

A woman has been taken to hospital after jumping from the first floor of a burning house in Carmarthenshire early on Wednesday.

Firefighters said the property in Tir Einon, Cefncaeau, Llanelli was well alight when they arrived at the scene just after 02:00 BST.

Two crews from Llanelli and one from Gorseinon attended.

A man was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire crews used three hose reel jets of water and a main jet to tackle the blaze, a spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire Service said.

Six firefighters were wearing breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera was also used.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.58am today, Wednesday June 11, to reports of a fire at a property on Tir Einon in Llanelli.

"A paramedic in a rapid response car attended with crew in two emergency ambulances, and one casualty was taken to Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli and one taken to Swansea's Morriston Hospital."
