There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man found unconscious in a Pembrokeshire road, say police.

Daniel Sturgess, 42, from Haverfordwest, was discovered by a passing motorist at about 00:40 BST on Saturday in the town's Cartlett Road.

Police said inquiries had continued over the weekend into the sudden death.

Mr Sturgess, known locally as Danny Large, was taken to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest where he died.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out but later reopened.

A Dyfed-Powys Police statement said: "Inquiries have continued over the weekend in relation to the sudden death of 42-year-old Daniel Sturgess, who was found on Cartlett Road, Haverfordwest in the early hours of Saturday morning.

"There aren't believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time, and the file will be passed to HM coroner.

"His family have been kept informed throughout, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"We would like to thank the community for their understanding whilst the road was closed, and thanks to all who have assisted the investigation in any way."
