Plane crash lands at Grovesend after hit by birds

A pilot escaped serious injury when his aircraft was hit by a flock of birds while trying to land in Swansea.

The plane flipped upside down on a private airstrip at Grovesend following the incident on Sunday morning.

The pilot was taken to nearby Morriston Hospital with minor concussion after climbing out of the aircraft.

South Wales Police said the aircraft suffered substantial damage in the incident and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed.
