Roof fire Pembrokeshire school set to partially reopen on Friday

A Pembrokeshire school was evacuated after a fire in a roof on Thursday.

The 380 pupils at Fenton Community Primary School in Haverfordwest were led to safety after the alert was raised at around 09:55 GMT.

Three classrooms are to stay closed for repairs following the blaze.

Pembrokeshire council said the rest of the school is to reopen on Friday as normal except for nursery and reception (pink and green) classes.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze are continuing.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Haverfordwest tackled the blaze.

The local authority said information about the closure will be posted on its website from Sunday afternoon.
