Carmarthen airgun incident on school bus sparks alert

Three youths are being questioned after police found an airgun on a school bus following an incident.

Officers were called to the bus taking pupils to Queen Elizabeth High School in Carmarthen just before 08:25 GMT.

Armed police were among the officers deployed. No-one was injured, Dyfed-Powys Police said.

Chief Inspector Nicky Carter said the incident was over quickly, adding officers would remain at the school "to provide reassurance to all pupils".

She said: "I'd like to reassure the public that this incident was resolved quickly and brought to a close.

"A BB air weapon was recovered at the scene and officers are now trying to establish exactly what happened.

"Officers will remain at the school to provide reassurance to all pupils and staff."
