Man found dead on yacht off coast of Pembrokeshire

Police are investigating after a man was found dead on a yacht in a bay off the Pembrokeshire coast on Saturday morning.

The body was found off Whitesands at St Davids by rescuers at about 10:30 BST.

Emergency services including the air ambulance, a rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor and the RNLI St Davids all-weather lifeboat were called.

Dyfed-Powys Police said they were treating the death as unexplained.

Officers are trying to identify the man and inform his next of kin.

A spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating the unexplained death of a male whose body was recovered by local maritime and coastguard agency personnel from a yacht off Whitesands Bay, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, at approximately 10:30 hours on Saturday, 7 September.

"Inquiries are in hand to identify the deceased and notify next of kin.

"HM Coroner will be informed."
