Snowdon: Woman airlifted after collapsing on Pyg track

A woman who collapsed and stopped breathing while walking on Snowdon has been airlifted to hospital.

The woman, thought to be aged in her late teens or early 20s, was 1,000ft (about 300m) up on the Pyg track when she fell ill.

She was winched aboard a rescue helicopter from RAF Valley, on Anglesey, and flown to hospital in Bangor, Gwynedd.

Her condition is not known.
