A477 Carmarthenshire car crash leaves one dead and six injured

One person has died and six others have been injured, one critically, in a two-car collision in Carmarthenshire.

The incident involving a Peugeot 206 and Kia Sportage happened on the A477 between Red Roses and Llanteg on Sunday at 17:25 GMT.

The 22-year-old front seat passenger in the Peugeot later died after being taken to hospital in Swansea.

A rear seat passenger in the same vehicle is in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

The conditions of the other injured people is not thought to be life threatening.

Paramedics and Dyfed Powys Police Air Support Unit took the casualties to a number of hospitals including Morriston at Swansea and Withybush in Haverfordwest.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call its Carmarthen road policing unit on Tel. 101.
