Cambrian Windows: 120 jobs under threat in Pembroke Dock
A drop in the demand for PVC windows is being blamed
Up to 120 jobs are under threat at the Cambrian Windows factory in Pembroke Dock after the owners started a 90-day consultation on closing the site.
The UK Window Group blamed the move on an industry-wide drop in demand for PVC windows, calling trading "significantly tougher than anticipated".
A statement from the company said the move was part of a strategic review of its manufacturing sites.
However it said no final decision had been made to close the factory.
The site on the outskirts of Pembroke Dock mainly manufactures windows for the retail replacement sector.
The company claimed overall PVC window requirements in the UK had halved since 2007.
The factory will continue to operate as normal during the consultation period.
