Children in fast food railway risk in Carmarthen
Children are putting their lives at risk by cutting across a railway line to get to a fast food restaurant in Carmarthen, transport police say.
Officers say reports have been received of children in school uniform using the line at Pensarn as a shortcut.
Concerns have also been raised about dog walkers on the tracks at Llangennech station in Carmarthenshire.
Police say they are "extremely worrying incidents which could have had dire consequences".
PC Dai Maynard, from British Transport Police in Carmarthen, said: "My concern is that these people may not be fully aware of the danger they are putting themselves in.
"These are extremely worrying incidents which could have had dire consequences, and I am concerned that unless this behaviour is nipped in the bud, it may be only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or even killed."
Police say their main concern is keeping people safe but anyone caught trespassing can be given a penalty notice for disorder of £50.
