A stand-in male stripper has been arrested for allegedly attacking disappointed women who booed him off stage at a Carmarthenshire pub.

More than 150 women paid £10-a-head for Ladies Night at the Baltic Inn, Pontyates, near Llanelli, expecting to see a muscular male called Fabio strip.

But Fabio cancelled and Leon Zbudowskyj, of Cardiff, was called in at the last minute.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed a 29-year-old man was arrested and bailed.

Abuse

Mr Zbudowskyj took to the stage dressed as a fireman but failed to put on a performance for the women.

Witnesses said some women lost patience with the semi-naked entertainer and heckled him before throwing napkins at him and shouting abuse.

Mr Zbudowskyj allegedly lost his temper and dived into the crowd, which sparked a large brawl.

Dyfed-Powys Police sent five cars of officers to the scene to break up the fight and Mr Zbudowskyj was taken away.

Viv Davies, 58, who owns the venue, said: "He got on the stage and tried to start his performance but the ladies were not very happy with him and started booing.

"It is not something that happens all the time and it was really quite unusual."

Compere Debra Jones said: "He just wasn't the sort of person you wanted to see take their kit off."

The agency, Fantasy Strip, said it was the first time they had used Mr Zbudowskyj after he was called in as a last-minute replacement for Birmingham-based Fabio, and they would not be using him again.

Mr Zbudowskyj was unavailable for comment.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further inquiries."
