Shotgun raid at Dylan's Wine Merchants, Sketty

Armed robbers escaped with hundreds of pounds from a wine merchants in Swansea after threatening the shopkeeper with a shotgun.

The shopkeeper at Dylan's in Sketty was uninjured but shaken in the incident just before midday on Saturday, say South Wales Police.

The pair, wearing yellow fluorescent clothing, escaped in the shop's van.

The silver Renault, branded with Dylan's Wine Merchants, was recovered an hour later at nearby Briar Dene.

Det Chf Insp Steve Benson-Davison said: "Thankfully, the shopkeeper wasn't injured but he has been through an ordeal and is very shaken.

"We want the public's help and are appealing to anybody who may have noticed anything suspicious, however insignificant it may seem, to contact us."

The armed man is described as average build and height but his accomplice is taller, about 6ft 4in (1.93cm), and described as "skinny".

South Wales Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
