Carmarthen murder inquiry: Man quizzed over Christmas killing

Police are continuing to question a 28-year-old man who was arrested in Carmarthen on Christmas Day on suspicion of murdering a woman.

Officers were called after the body of the 37-year-old was found at a house in Maes yr Ysgol at about 10:50 GMT.

The local man was arrested at the scene.

Detectives have appealed for members of the public who were in the area between 17:00 GMT on Christmas Eve and early the next day to contact them.

Family members are being supported by specially trained officers from Dyfed-Powys Police.

In a statement, the force said: "The community are continuing to support the investigation and Dyfed-Powys Police would like to thank them for their assistance.

"Any member of the public who may have information that could assist this enquiry should contact police on 101."
