Briton Ferry sex attack: Teenager arrested after woman assaulted

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Briton Ferry.

Officers said the victim was attacked on Saturday between 21:30 and 22:00 GMT when a man dragged her across Regent Street East and assaulted her near the junction with Ferry Close.

A 17-year-old man was arrested and later released on bail.

Det David Hough said: "This was an extremely traumatic and upsetting incident for this lady."

"Although the attack happened during the hours of darkness we are aware that there were people and vehicles out and about in the area, at the time, as members of the public have come forward to let us know what was happening.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the attack or has any relevant information to come forward."

Witnesses should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
