A40 Carmarthenshire road crash kills woman, 23

A 23-year-old woman has died following a road crash involving two vehicles on the A40 in Carmarthenshire.

She was driving one of the vehicles which collided between St Clears and Whitland at around 23:00 BST on Friday.

Four people from the second vehicle - two of them children - were taken to the West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen but their injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The dead woman lived locally and her family have been informed.

She was travelling alone at the time of the crash.

Witnesses have been asked to contact police at the Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit on 101.
