£20m Kronos solar park plan in Cosheston, Pembrokeshire

Plans to build a £20m solar park with 60,000 panels have been submitted to Pembrokeshire council.

Germany-based Kronos Solar wants to build the solar park at West Farm, Cosheston, on a 25-acre site.

Dr Alexander Arcache, one of the company's directors, said the site was well selected and "not very visible".

The company says the agricultural land could be used for grazing after installation. Pembrokeshire council has been asked to comment.

Dr Arcache said it was important to get "people behind renewables by taking away their fears".

He said the development would be covered by the Renewables Obligation Certificate system, which obliges UK electricity suppliers to source an increasing proportion of electricity from renewable sources.
