A 61-year old man has been charged with the murder of his wife whose body was found in a village in Carmarthenshire.

Police said Dewi John Evans from Pontyberem had been remanded in custody following the death of Jackie Evans on 11 November.

Mrs Evans, aged 57, was found with stab wounds after police were called to the Maesyfelin area of the village.

Mr Evans will appear before Swansea Crown Court at the end of the month.

Mrs Evans's daughter Germaine Hughes said she was a "loving family woman."
