Mystery patient at Royal Gwent Hospital is identified

An elderly woman who went into a south Wales hospital saying she cannot recall who she is has been identified.

She went into the accident and emergency department of Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital just after midnight on Thursday morning.

Gwent Police said the woman's needs are now being assessed.

A spokesman said she had no identification on her when she arrived at the hospital and could not recall any of her personal details.
