Teenager stabbed in assault on City Road, Cardiff

Police cordon in City Road, Cardiff Police closed off City Road after the assault

A Cardiff city centre street has been closed for much of Friday evening, after a teenager was stabbed.

South Wales Police were called to an assault in City Road at 18:20 BST.

The force said an 18-year-old man was "assaulted with a bladed weapon" but his injuries are not life threatening and he is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales.

In a separate incident, a man was also injured in a blade attack at a bar in the Canton area of the city.

Police were called to the Canton Sports Bar on Leckwith Road at 18:36 BST.

A man at the premises sustained a cut to his forearm which needed hospital treatment.
