Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan dogs homes could merge

Council-run dogs homes in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan could merge to save money.

The proposals set to be approved at Cardiff's council's cabinet meeting on Thursday also include reducing staff hours and renegotiating veterinary costs to save £15,000.

A report says Cardiff council is also looking at the possibility of a Biogas plant to recycling dog waste.

Cardiff Dogs Home takes in around 1,000 dogs every year costing £257,000.
