Hawthorn swimming pool, Pontypridd shut over safety concerns

A swimming pool has been closed following concerns over structural problems at the site.

The decision to shut Hawthorn pool in Pontypridd immediately came after survey was carried out.

Rhondda Cynon Taf council said some of the work that needs carrying out in the roof would need the pool being drained to gain access.

No date has been given for when the pool will reopen. The council apologised for the closure.
