Primary school teacher Claire Jarrett struck off for misconduct
A primary school teacher from Caerphilly county has been struck off the teaching register for a minimum of two years for misconduct.
Claire Jarrett, 46, lifted a five-year-old child by one arm and slid him across the floor when she lost her temper during rehearsals for a carol concert at Aberbargoed Primary School.
She had also forced his hands under a tap and pulled him off a bike.
But the panel said it had not found that the actions amounted to bullying.
The General Teaching Council for Wales hearing in Cardiff had been told the alleged assault was part of a campaign of bullying against the five-year-old boy, which lasted several months.
A teaching colleague had said her stomach "churned" at the incident during the carol concert rehearsal.
Miss Jarrett had denied all the allegations regarding the boy, who was said by teachers to have had "behaviour issues".
She was charged with common assault by police after the carol practice incident but the case was never taken to trial.
