Witness appeal as cyclist dies in Abertridwr road crash

A cyclist has died following a crash involving a car near Caerphilly.

The incident happened about 18:00 GMT on Thursday on The Square in Abertridwr and involved a blue Renault Clio.

The cyclist, a 63-year-old local man, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was unhurt. Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses to phone 101 and quote reference number 390 23/01/14.
