Ian Davies, 27, named as victim in Trinant murder probe

A man who died following an incident near Newbridge over the weekend has been named as 27-year-old Ian Davies.

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after officers were called to a property in Marshfield Road in Trinant, on Saturday at 19:30 GMT.

Mr Davies, who sustained a wound to his body, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport where he died.

Four people - two men aged 26 and two women aged 30 and 22 - were arrested.

Those being held are all from the local area.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or who was in the area at the time to get in touch on 101, quoting log number 384 11/1/14.
