Man found unconscious at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff

Police were seen searching bushes in the car park

Police have cordoned off an area at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff after a man was found unconscious.

The 24-year-old was discovered in a car park near the Millennium Bridge, which crosses the River Taff, at about 02:52 GMT on Saturday.

His injuries are not known but he is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Around six officers have been searching the area and South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information should call 101 if they saw anything suspicious between 01:30 and 03:10 GMT.
