Woman rescued from flat fire in Bridgend

A woman was rescued from an early morning flat fire, which is under investigation in Bridgend.

The woman was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after the fire broke out at 01:33 GMT.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the fire affecting the front door of the first-floor flat was thought to be deliberate.

The fire service will liaise with police in the inquiry, he said.

Crews from Bridgend and Cowbridge used a thermal imaging camera in tackling the blaze.
