Dog kills pet and then attacks owner in Victoria Park, Cardiff

A woman suffered serious arm injuries and her pet dog was killed after they were attacked by a dog in a Cardiff park.

The woman needed treatment in hospital to her forearms after being bitten by a "pit bull-type" dog in Victoria Park on Saturday, South Wales Police said.

The dog, which is a distinctive blue-grey colour, was seized by police but they do not know who owns it.

Police want the owner or anyone who knows the dog to contact them.

South Wales Police said people with information about the attack at 14:30 GMT could contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting occurrence number 62130368937.
