Landslip closes A4136 road in Monmouthshire to Gloucestershire

A landslip and fallen tree has forced police to close the A4136 road from Monmouth in south Wales to Staunton, Gloucestershire.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning, blocking the route from Kymin Road in Monmouth to Wellmeadow in Staunton.

Work to remove the tree was carried out after 06:00 GMT, and it understood the road was initially reopened.

But the landslip has been deemed a danger and diversions are in place.
