Boy in hospital after car collision in Pontypridd

A young boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

South Wales Police say they were called to Taff Street in the town centre at about 12:30 GMT.

Paramedics were sent to the scene following reports of the collision.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and a boy was taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital."
