Man hit by minibus in Pontyclun is seriously ill

A man is seriously ill in hospital after he was hit by a minibus in south Wales in the early hours.

The collision happened on the A4222 Llantrisant Road at Pontyclun opposite the fire station at around 00:45 BST on Sunday.

The pedestrian, who lives locally, was taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

Police closed the road for about four hours while they carried out investigations. Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The white minibus was travelling from Pontyclun towards Talbot Green at the time of the collision.
