M4 hold-ups at Cardiff Gate caused by car fire

A car fire caused Bank Holiday traffic disruption on the M4 motorway on the outskirts of Cardiff on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the M4 eastbound near junction 30 at Cardiff Gate, with Traffic Wales saying smoke affected driving conditions from 17:25 BST.

One lane was closed with traffic queuing on Monday evening.

The fire was put out. Problems were said to be easing after 45 minutes.
