David Marshall dies in A40 Monmouthshire road collision

The 78-year-old victim of a two-car collision in Monmouthshire has been named by police.

David Marshall, from Crickhowell in Powys, died on the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny at 21:30 BST on Saturday.

A woman passenger in the silver Ford Ka is in a serious condition in hospital.

The 44-year-old driver of the second car, a silver VW Golf, has been bailed after questioning.

The A40 was closed for approximately 10 hours while investigators carried out inquiries at the scene.

Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101, in particular the driver of a Ford Transit van or similar vehicle, thought to be heading in the same direction at that time.
