Three swimmers rescued off Tresilian Bay, Llantwit Major
Three swimmers had to be rescued after getting into difficulty in the sea in south Wales.
A boat rescued the group off Tresilian Bay, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, after a mayday call by coastguards.
Two women and a man had been swimming with a group of others when they got into difficulty due to the current.
An RAF helicopter and lifeboat joined the rescue operation at 18:00 BST on Sunday.
Swansea Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) was alerted by one of the other swimmers.
But a vessel was able to respond and get the three people on board before the Porthcawl lifeboat took the casualties ashore.
They did not require medical attention.
Rescue coordination centre manager Steve Jones said crews had a busy day on Sunday with other rescues including people cut off by the tide.
In north Wales there were several rescues off Barmouth, Gwynedd.
