M4 traffic eases at Bridgend after gorse fire smoke

Speed restrictions on the M4 put in place after smoke from a large gorse fire led to reduced visibility have been lifted.

A 50mph limit was imposed in both directions between junction 36 at Bridgend Sarn service area and junction 37 at Pyle.

It came after a gorse fire near the motorway resulted in smoke being blown across the carriageway.

But the affected section of the motorway has now returned to normal.

South Wales Fire and Rescue said three fire crews were called out at 11:26 BST to a gorse fire on the A48 at Stormy Down.
