Cross Keys fire: GLJ Recycling Newtown estate inquiry

Fire investigators are trying to establish the cause of a large blaze at a recycling factory.

The blaze at GLJ Recycling on the Newtown Industrial Estate, Cross Keys, Caerphilly county, started at about 13:00 BST on Saturday.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it involved 700 tonnes of scrap metal.

Nearby residents were advised to stay in and keep windows and doors closed, and some local roads were closed.
