A4049 shut after lorry-van crash at Pengam, Caerphilly

A road has been closed in both directions after a crash between a lorry and a van in Pengam, Caerphilly.

The collision was at the junction of the A4049 Pengam Road and the B4254 near Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni at 05:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Fire crews from Cefn Fforest and Pontypridd and a rescue unit from Newport went to the scene, and one person was being cut free.

Police and the ambulance service were also in attendance.
