Man arrested over attack on Millennium Stadium announcer Rhys ap William

Police investigating an attack on the Millennium Stadium's matchday announcer in Cardiff have arrested a man.

Rhys ap William, 37, was found with head injuries near the Admiral Napier pub in Canton on Sunday at around 00:15 GMT.

South Wales Police say a 24-year-old man from Ely has been arrested on suspicion of assault after an appeal.

The force said anyone with information can contact Fairwater CID on 029 2057 1545 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
